Factors Involving in Dental Negligence

Medical negligence solicitors deal with a wide variety of dental negligence claims. Like other specialized areas of healthcare, dentistry is difficult and challenging, but dentists have years of training and plenty of health and safety regulations that should minimize any risks and ensure all dental work is completed adequately.

Because so many things can go wrong, dental negligence takes a lot of different forms. However, usually claims fall under one of a number of categories

dentists misdiagnose claim compensation negligence

Dental Negligence as a Result of Misdiagnosis
As in all fields of healthcare, diagnosis must be prompt and accurate. People should visit the dentist every six months so oral health problems can be spotted and resolved before they develop into anything more serious. You may be unaware that you have a problem with your teeth until a dentist points it out to you, and the public trusts that these professionals will know what to look for and how to fix it.

However, in all too many cases, dentists misdiagnose the health problems of their patients, which can result in people undergoing unnecessary, invasive and potentially dangerous procedures. Not only can these be painful, they can also be expensive, while patients can take days off work and miss wages so they can have the work done.

Misdiagnosis can also see existing dental problems being incorrectly treated, which can cause the problems to become significantly worse, as the underlying cause of the condition has not been dealt with.

While you may be aggravated and annoyed if you have found out you have been the victim of misdiagnosis, you should not forget that Medical Negligence Solicitors can help you recover any costs, as well as receive clinical negligence compensation for your pain and suffering.

Dental Negligence Due to Delays to Diagnosis
Frequently, dental negligence claims see claimants reporting that a problem was not diagnosed in time. If you have regular check-ups every six months, then problems should be noticed in their earliest stages. This usually means remedial treatment is significantly cheaper and that any long-term health problems are avoided.
If you lose a tooth due to gum disease, for instance, you might be able to claim compensation for dental negligence, as the dentist should have noticed that you were at risk of losing your teeth and should have taken remedial action.

Careless or Improper Work and Dental Negligence Compensation
Medical negligence claims involving dentists also often involve careless or improper dental work. Although dentistry is a delicate field of medicine involving a lot of precision, modern equipment and health and safety regulations should minimize the chance of dental work being performed badly.

Occasionally dentists fail to use these tools properly or do not follow guidelines to the letter. While you may want to put this down to an off day and might be forgiving of your dentist, you should not put up with improper work and should contact medical negligence solicitors to make a clinical negligence claim. This can help you cover the cost of any remedial operations and should ensure you are not left out-of-pocket due to the failings of your dentist.

Inadequate and Incompetent Treatment and Dental Negligence
You may also be able to make a dental negligence claim if you believe the treatment you have received from your dentist was inadequate or incompetent. Medical negligence solicitors will have to demonstrate that the services you received fell below the standards you would expect from a normal dentist. These clinical negligence compensation cases can be pursued in cases where the inadequate treatment occurred over a period of months or years, as well as in those where poor treatment happened on just one occasion.
Incompetent treatment could involve the incorrect administration of anaesthetics, the incorrect fitting of bridges, crowns and fillings, or poor standards of root canal work.

However, there are dozens of other potential reasons for people to make dental negligence and Personal Injury Compensation Claims, including cases where diseases are contracted in dental surgeries, when errors are performed during orthodontic work, when patients are not informed about post-operative care or when dangerous tools are used incompetently.

Whatever the case, it is always recommended that people contact medical negligence solicitors to take on their case. These legal experts are experienced in handling cases like yours and know all the ins and outs of the trade, so they know what constitutes dental negligence. Solicitors will therefore be able to tell you whether you have a valid case and how large your claim will be and can also give you the best possible chance of succeeding in your dental negligence compensation claim.

Should the Police Claim Accident at Work Compensation?

Recently, there have been a number of news stories about people in the police making accident at work compensation claims or suing members of the public following a trip or fall. PC Kelly Jones received vilification in the press after she tripped on a kerb and decided to seek redress from the Thetford petrol station where the incident occurred. It is worth pointing out that PC Jones injured her left leg and right wrist following the fall, and she had to go to hospital and take six weeks off work. The kerb was in a poorly-lit area and images of the spot make the kerb appear deep and unexpected.

Claim Accident Work Compensation Injury Police

PC Jones had also suffered a knee injury in a previous case, when she was involved in a car crash that followed the pursuit of a criminal. Her car ended up on its side and was declared a write-off. Furthermore, Norfolk Police admitted liability for her injuries.

This incident is being held up as an example of PC Jones' litigious nature, but if you or I were in what sounds like a motor vehicle accident at high speed, we'd claim for car accident compensation too!

The overall value of her most recent claim is reported to be £50,000, and it is reasonable to assume that an accident at work compensation case of this size will probably have caused the claimant some significant pain and suffering, with possible long-lasting impacts. If she injured her knee in a serious motor vehicle accident, it's completely possible that falling off a kerb could have led to her sustaining personal injuries that are far more serious than those the man on the Clapham omnibus would suffer.

Other policewomen who received less-than-favourable commentary include Hampshire PC Kerry Ann Taylor, who cut her hand open when she attempted to open a window while cleaning out a cannabis factory and received a £4,837 Accident at Work Compensation payout from her employer Hampshire Police.

The Police force spent an additional £145,000 in costs in an attempt to overrule the court's ruling and failed, as lawyers successfully argued that the cannabis factory was a potentially dangerous area and that the police should have foreseen the potential for PC Taylor to have injured herself while working.

Transport for London also recently paid a police officer £10,000 after the person fell off a chair, which the Daily Mail and the London Evening Standard were quick to call an example of 'compensation culture gone mad'. One would assume that the victim was happily sat on a chair which then unexpectedly collapsed, leading to them sustaining some real personal injuries. Would you not expect compensation in a similar situation?

It is worth pointing out that the victims would not have been able to successfully make a claim if they had not sustained some real injuries as a result of their accidents. If someone received £10,000 for 'falling off a chair', it is fair to assume that the fall led to fractured or broken bones or other serious bodily injuries.

For what it's worth, the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) has taken a more nuanced stance towards these news articles. A spokesman for the organisation pointed out that many police officers choose to pay for their own healthcare so they can go back to work as quickly as possible, and that any other employee would be able to seek accident at work compensation so police officers should have the same opportunity.

Speaking about the PC Jones case in particular, PFEW chair Steve Williams stressed that when a police officer is injured whilst on duty, they do not receive any financial compensation from their own police force - in fact, they can end up losing money by receiving a reduction in allowances and half pay, with some officers struggling to achieve specialization or promotion and with others even losing their jobs.

He explained that PC Jones had asked for legal advice regarding claiming back any earnings she lost due to her injury, with the Police Federation agreeing to fund her through a conditional fee basis.

So far, PC Jones has refused to make any public statements, but I would think this is probably a good idea. The police force do a dangerous job and have the right to the same standards of health and safety as any other employee. If I sustained a serious Personal Injury at Work due to the negligent actions of another person, I would expect to receive compensation.

However I could argue that this case shows the importance of public liability insurance. Make space for this in your bottom line. If your business' bottom line can't cope with public liability insurance, then the cost of one accident at work compensation case could be enough to send you into liquidation. Don't run the risk!

Three Ways to Keep Your Kids Busy this Summer

How quickly does the excitement of summer vacation turn into boredom and laziness for your student?

If you’re like most parents, it probably happens fairly quickly. Once our kids are set loose on the world without school taking up their time, they suddenly fall into a routine that includes waking up for lunch and playing videogames until dinner. If we’re lucky, they’ll at least watch the History Channel before bed.

Kids Busy Camping Summer Fun Enjoying

It’s time for our students to stop wasting time and accomplish something outside of school. Here are three ways to keep your kids busy this summer.

Summer Camp
Good thing there are youth leadership programs located all over that provide not only something to do, but something that’s fun, gets our kids outside, and even teaches important skills and knowledge.

Beyond the educational aspect, a summer camp provides our kids with a gateway to growth. Put them in an initially uncomfortable situation (being in new places is often difficult for younger people, especially if you’re not around) and they’ll make the most out of it.

If you can show your student the value of being independent and meeting new people, you just may inspire him to wake up in time for breakfast on the weekends.

Rec Sports Leagues
Joining recreational sports is a great way to get a teen up and at ‘em.

For athletic students, summer leagues are useful to keep them in shape and their skills honed for next season. Or, it gives that soccer player a chance to learn baseball—you just might provide a spark that gets them away from the Xbox version of MLB and onto the real-life baseball diamond.

For less-athletic students, summer leagues are equally useful. Instead of sharpening skills, though, these teens get to learn them from friendly coaches and their peers. Much like summer academic enrichment camps, these students are learning valuable life skills: teamwork, meeting challenges, and how to bunt against the shift.

Other Organizations
Many students like to devote their time to helping others or learning a skill in a non-competitive setting. Whether it’s through organizations like 4-H or Big Brothers Big Sisters, your student will fill his or her time actually helping others in some way.

Moreover, those students who’ve already completed academic skills training at summer camps are perhaps best qualified for this type of volunteering. If your child has a thorough understanding of academic concepts, he or she could spend time tutoring others while still earning volunteer credits (which look great on college resumes).

Who knows? By keeping your student busy now, you might be providing the skills he or she needs to stay busy for years to come.

Training Equipments; Elliptical vs Treadmill Machine

The elliptical machine is one of the most popular training equipment's for those who are fond of doing cardio exercises. While running on a treadmill still remains as the preferred cardiovascular workout for gym goers, most of them still cannot differentiate the benefits of the two training equipment's  The common misconception is, the elliptical machine and the treadmill works almost the same and offers identical benefits.

Both equipments are standard features we can find in Best Fitness Gyms and even in personal training gyms at home. What most people do not know is that there is a vast difference between how the equipment's work.

Gym Exercise Elliptical Machine Workout

The treadmill is a pure cardio equipment. When running on a treadmill, you are using mainly your legs or your lower body. There is no doubt that the treadmill is an effective cardio exercise which imitates an aerobic routine. Using the treadmill will require around more than half of your body’s blood supply to flow to your legs. However, in an elliptical machine, an additional twenty percent of the blood supply goes to the upper body. This is because unlike on a treadmill, both the upper and lower body is used when exercising on an elliptical machine, making it a more effective aerobic exercise.

Gym Exercise Treadmill Machine Workout

Working out on a treadmill causes high impact to the lower body especially to the legs. This makes it hard for people who are suffering from different ailments to use the treadmill. That is why people who are suffering from bone or joint conditions like arthritis or rheumatism are discouraged to use the treadmill in most Sports Fitness Gyms. On the other hand, the elliptical does not impact the lower body as much as the treadmill does. Since striding movements are required on the lower body instead of running, people who suffer from bone and joint diseases can still use the said equipment.

In fact, recent studies have proven that using the elliptical machine especially on reverse direction can help strengthen the ligaments on the knee. Though the same effects can still be achieved using the treadmill or by merely walking backwards, the steady and swift movements required on an elliptical machine makes it all more beneficial especially for people who have less coordinated movement.

Another benefit that people can get from an elliptical machine aside from being an effective cardio and aerobic exercise is that the machine itself rarely breaks down. Treadmills, even the most expensive ones which can be seen on the best fitness gyms can easily break down. The elliptical machine on the other hand is sturdy enough even when regularly used. This makes it as ideal equipment at home. The key to making an elliptical machine last is to use it both in forward and in reverse direction. This will actually make your exercise more balanced and aside from that, it will make your machine last longer.

Organizing a Football Party for Kids

With the increasing popularity of football among individuals of all ages, it is not that rare to find birthday parties and kids events to have football games as a theme. And you can perfectly create a football themed party on your own so that your kids can definitely enjoy the party that you are going to throw.

Kids Football Party

Do not even mind the budget because there are a lot of ways to throw a football themed party without really splurging. The football themed party together with the food, drinks and decorations can be prepared without much on an expense as long as you are resourceful enough to think of a cost efficient way of doing it.

The key to making a football themed party successful is getting your child involved in the planning. If it happens that your child is an avid fan of Kids Football Games, then include him in the decision making so that you can more or less consider his insight on how the party should be. Football can be too broad of a team and so if you wish, you can just select your favorite football theme and build all the elements around it.

Having your favorite team’s jersey as the official attire for the party can do but you do not want all of the people to be wearing the same outfit. If you want, you can build the decorations around the design of your favorite team’s jersey. You can do some cutouts and stick them to the wall and even have your football memorabilia’s displayed somewhere where people can appreciate it.

When it comes to the food, there are a lot of ways to incorporate the look and feel of the football game with just a little creativity. If it is a party that is meant for kids, then you can bake some cake or prepare some cupcakes that bear the official logo of your team. Use your team’s color as icing or cupcake topping. Whatever you want to do, as long as the food embody the theme of Football Games for Kids, then you have nothing to worry about. The kids will surely enjoy it.

Childrens Football Party Celebrate

If you will have a lot of adults around, then you can prepare the type of food that is usually sold in football stands like hotdogs, sausages and barbecue ribs. Same should also be done with the drinks for the party. The kids and your adult friends will surely have a blast digging into the party food that you prepared.

Now, one thing that should not be forgotten is the type of activities that you will have during the party. Obviously, you cannot hold a full-fledged football game because of the amount of space needed. But if you have a relatively wide backyard or front yard space, then you can organize a little game to allow your friends and the kids play football. This will be a very good way to conclude the party. Remember, with great food and drinks and with awesome activities, you will be able to organize a football themed party which will allow everyone to enjoy their favorite sport and have a blast.

Tips for Enhancing your Natural Beauty

If you watch reality television or you read the showbiz column of a daily newspaper you will be inundated with images of women and men who have undergone Cosmetic Surgery procedures in a bid to look good. You will also come across a host of other methods of improving your looks, such as using fake tan or sun beds, using make-up, wearing false eyelashes and hair extensions. In the past, a little make-up went a long way but women, and men are spending more time and money on their appearance than ever before.

Tips Groom Enhance Natural Beauty

Less is more
When it comes to beauty there is a lot of truth in the old adage, ‘less is more’. The aim of make-up used to be to enhance what was already there, to make your eyes pop out and your lips look more voluptuous, for example, but these days it seems that many people use make-up, tan and hair extensions to mask their real looks and create a whole new aesthetic.

Most women feel more comfortable when they have a bit of make-up on and they’ve done their hair, but it’s important to embrace your natural looks and to feel confident in your own skin; here are some tips for looking your best without worrying about spending hours in front of the mirror:

Enhancing your natural beauty
Skin, hair and nails
One of the best ways to enhance your natural beauty is to focus on your skin; your skin is a really important organ and it plays an essential aesthetic role. If your skin is soft, bright, clear and fresh, this will give you confidence and help you to feel great from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep; no more worrying about people seeing you without your make-up!
Looking after your skin is really important but it is very simple; all you need to do is follow these simple steps:
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables (foods that are rich in vitamins A, C and E are best)
  • Cleanse, tone and moisturise every day, twice a day
  • Exfoliate once or twice a week
  • Find out your skin type and use the relevant skincare products
Your hair is an influential part of your look; healthy, shiny, glossy hair makes you look gorgeous, healthy and confident. Eating well will help to keep your hair strong and healthy and deep conditioning once a week is also beneficial. Try to avoid washing your hair too frequently, as this removes the natural oils and use heat protection spray before you dry your hair or straighten or curl it.

To keep your nails looking healthy, make sure you take in the recommended daily intake of calcium; calcium is found in milk, butter and yoghurt and it helps to strengthen your bones, nails and teeth.

Child Care Crisis in the UK

Most households in the UK work, even if they have children. The children are most parents pride and joy so they want to send them to a place they will be well fed, cared for and entertained while the parent is away from them. At the moment a preschooler would go to either a nursery or child-minder where the ratio is between 1:1 and 1:6 so one child-minder can look after 6 children. However the new plans to make more childcare available mean that childcare providers can have an even larger ratio so more children to one adult which essentially means the person responsible will be stretched with their time and also the care for each child will be dropped.

International Child Care Crisis UK

Some parents will be for this change as it reduces the cost of childcare for some parents as child-minders can charge less for places because they have more places available. When child-minders had only 6 places each place was so important that they had to charge a maximum amount for each place.

However some parents will repel this change and say that one adult cannot possibly care for more than 6 children at any given time. How is it possible that you can meet the needs of 6 people all at the same time especially when they are different ages? Obviously the children who are 2 years old have different needs to a five year old or 8 year old and therefore more planning is required to keep all the age groups happy and entertained.

I think It could work as a great idea for after school clubs where you just need to pick all the kids up of a relatively same age, take them home, provide some games, books and a cooked meal and wait until their parents come to pick them up but day in and day out more than 6 kids of different age groups will just drive the adult crazy.

Is this the right solution for the childcare crisis? No, I do not think so but I am not sure what the solution is. Would it be relatives or to keep parents off work until there child is 3 years old and in Nursery or keep them out of work until their child is 5 and in full time school. What If There Was A Pill That Could Make You Smarter?

Most of us have seen the movie Limitless. Yeah, you know the one. It’s the movie where Bradley Cooper finds that drug that turns him into the genius. What would you do if there were such a pill? At what lengths would you go to get it?

Pill Memory Boost Smart

Sorry, but the truth is, no such drug that exists in our world. The good news is that there are supplements out there that can make our brains “chemically” smarter. These so called supplements are known asnootropics. To be considered a nootropic, the substance has to be low in side effects and be able to improve some area of cognitive function. Nootropics usually have some sort of antioxidant activity in the brain. Certain nootropics have been shown to reduce oxidative stress and free radicals. Both oxidative stress and free radicals have been shown to lead to neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

Racetams
The racetam family of drugs is perhaps most interesting of all the nootropics. Racetams share a common method of action relating to cognitive function and processing. Racetams have been shown to work on the Cholinergic and Glutamate receptors by increasingreuptake and efficiency at their respective channels.
Now we know you’re not a neuroscientist but there are some basic functions to understand. Glutamic Acid (Glutamate) is a non-essential amino acid and neurotransmitter in the brain. It is known that Glutamate-to-receptor binding plays a huge role in learning and memory processes. Racetams have been shown to improve reuptake of Glutamate in two important Glutamate receptor sites. These groups of receptors are known as AMPA and NDMA receptors.

Racetams also contribute to cognitive function by working on another important area in the brain. This area is known as the cholinergic system. The cholinergic system typically refers to the neurotransmitter, Acetylcholine and its respective receptor. Acetylcholine binds to the Acetylcholine receptors and is hugely important in learning and memory. Racetams increase the efficiency of these processes. It is recommended to have enough Acetylcholine in your diet if you are taking racetams. Acetylcholine can be obtained from foods (technically its precursor choline can be obtained from food).

Effects of Racetams
There are several different types of racetam drugs available. The most popular is Piracetam. When one takes Piracetam for the first time, the first notable effects will usually be in the form of heightened sensory perception (ex. vision: colors more vibrant). Other noticeable effects which are commonly spottedare: advanced learning and memory, focus and increased working memory.

These results vary from user to user and Piracetam is just the tip of the ice-burg. In fact, Piracetam is the weakest of the racetam family. Most of the other racetams such as: Aniracetam, Oxiracetam and Pramiracetam are modified versions of Piracetam`s chemical structure. These other racetams usually have stronger nootropic benefits and potency.

One great thing with racetams is their lack of side effects. Common side effects usually relate to headaches and fatigue. These are usually a cause of insufficient Acetylcholine and supplementation is often recommended. Some other common side-effects can include: nausea, upset stomach and dizziness, none of which are life threatening. There have been zero reports of severe negative side effects or fatalities from racetam supplements. They are generally well tolerated by all. So go ahead, try racetam supplements. They may not make you a genius, but they can defiantly help in areas of cognition and memory. Racetams are the best alternative to those nasty smart drugs many students are taking illegallynow a days. You can learn more about racetams by visiting Peak Nootropics

How E-Cigarettes Work

E-Cigarettes are electronic cigarettes that produce vapor instead of smoke. A liquid solution referred to as e-liquid or e-juice contains nicotine and tobacco flavors without the chemical additives found in tobacco cigarettes. The battery powered e-cig heats the liquid nicotine to the vaporizing point. The user inhales the vapor to experience the nicotine, tobacco taste, and the physical aspects involved in the act of smoking, without inhaling the chemicals and carcinogens in tobacco smoke, thus eliminating the harmful effects of smoke inhalation to themselves and others.

Work Procedure E-Cigarettes

There are several components of the e-cigarette that work together to create the flavored nicotine vapor.

Electronic Cigarette Cartridges
Cartridges can be pre-filled or refillable and serve as both the e-juice liquid reservoir and the mouthpiece. Electronic Cigarette Cartridges send the liquid through the reservoir to the heating element. The subsequently produced vapor is drawn back through the cartridge into the user’s mouth and lungs.

Atomizers, Cartomizers, and Tankomizers
The atomizer is the heating element that turns the e-liquid into vapor. It attaches to the cartridge, which holds the liquid but keeps it separate from the atomizer. The atomizer uses a wick to absorb a small amount of the liquid for heating and vaporizing, controlling the amount of liquid exposed to the atomizer. When the atomizer and cartridge are integrated into one unit, the piece is called a cartomizer. When the liquid is held in a separate tank apart from both the cartridge and the atomizer, the unit is called a tankomizer.

E-Cigarette Battery
The largest individual part of the e-cigarette is the rechargeable ion-lithium battery. Some batteries employ an electronic airflow activation sensor, which detects the flow of air through the unit when a user inhales. Other batteries employ a power button which instigates vaporization instantly when pressed. Attached to the end of the battery facing away from the mouthpiece is sometimes an LED light, which mimics a lit cigarette when in use.

E-Cigarette Charger
Rechargeable e-cig batteries require a special battery charger or adaptor. An E-Cig Charger may come as a unit disguised as a cigarette case or pack, which plugs into a USB connection or AC adaptor. Other chargers are simple USB connections that allow you to use your computer, laptop, or other portable device to conveniently charge your e-cigs on the go.

E-Cig Carrying Cases
Carrying cases keep all e-cig components in one place and hold replacement parts such as backup atomizers and pre-filled cartridges. Some carrying cases double as battery chargers and can be conveniently plugged in for charging all batteries at once without moving them to a separate charger.

Involved in a Bicycle Accident? – Who Could You Claim Against?

Being involved in any type of road accident can be a traumatising experience, especially if you are left with serious medical injuries. In one instance your whole life can be turned upside down and it can leave you wondering – what can I do now? Many people shy away from the idea of making a personal injury claim because they are worried about costs, paperwork and legal jargon, the problem is that in many cases these people would have a very valid case and do deserve the compensation that they could be entitled to.

Bicycle Accident Claim Insurance Rights

What are My Rights as a Cyclist?
Although a bicycle may seem very different to a car, it still has the same rights on any road right around the UK and cyclists shouldn’t feel intimidated by vehicles which are larger than they are. The problem is that if you are involved in an accident with another vehicle, the sheer size and sturdiness of the other vehicle can leave you with serious injuries, while the vehicle can get away almost unscathed.

Making a personal injury claim may seem like a challenge, but it isn’t always that hard. If you have recently been involved in a Bicycle Accident, here are a few people that you may be eligible to claim against:
  • Motor Vehicle drivers
  • HGV drivers
  • Public transport operators
  • Pedestrians
  • Council/Road Maintenance operators.
I’m Worried About Fees and Charges
Most personal injury lawyers offer a No Win, No Fee or Conditional Fee Agreement. This was introduced to ensure that anyone who has been a victim of negligence is entitled to a fair trial, which should come at no cost to them.

In most cases you won’t have to pay a penny if your case is lost and if you win you may still find that your lawyers charge little to no fees.

If you have been the victim of negligence and you have been left out of pocket as a result, you could consider a claim to get your finances and your life back on track.

Financing Options for Aesthetic Laser Treatments

Cosmetic procedures have traditionally been associated with the rich and famous for a reason: many of these procedures aren't cheap and most are not covered by health insurance plans because they are considered elective procedures. Recent advances in cosmetic treatments have made many of these procedures more accessible to the common man or woman.

The Cosmetic Laser is being used in conjunction with or in place of more and more cosmetic surgical procedures, reducing the overall cost of a procedure. Cost is reduced in a number of ways: Time – Procedures don’t last as long so they don’t cost as much.
  • Safety – Lasers have made cosmetic surgeries much safer, leading to decreased costs in everything from follow-up care to physician insurance rates.
  • Recovery – Decreased recovery time means patients need less time away from work, less pain medication, and fewer post-operative treatments, all of which save a patient money.
  • Lower billing – Because clinics don’t have to submit a lot of time and cost-consuming paperwork to insurance companies and wait for months to receive payment, treatments paid for in cash often save them money, and some clinics pass this savings on to their patients.

Low-level Laser Therapy is used to treat medical conditions and to perform cosmetic procedures. Health insurance plans are paying for an increasing number of medical laser treatments, but don’t pay for elective procedures involving a cosmetic laser, also called an aesthetic laser. One exception is when aesthetic lasers are used to help correct cosmetic damage caused by a medical condition, as in the case of reconstructive cosmetic surgery or breast reconstruction following a mastectomy.

Paying for Aesthetic Laser Treatments

Clinic Financing
While the cost of cosmetic laser treatments is down, they can still take a big bite out of your pocketbook. This is one reason that many cosmetic surgery clinics offer financing and payment plans to their patients. Many clinics provide low- or no-interest payment plans over the course of several months or years. Some require down payments while others offer a no-down-payment option.

Care Credit
Care credit is a health and beauty specific credit card that offers a no-interest promotional period when you first open your account, giving you the opportunity to pay off your elective treatment interest free. After the promotional period is over, balances generate a lower interest level than conventional credit card accounts. Accounts also come with a revolving line of credit to allow for additional medical and beauty-related bills to be added to your account as you pay the balance down, keeping your minimum monthly payments low.

Health Savings Plans
If you already have a health savings account built up, you may be able to use some or all of the balance toward paying for cosmetic or aesthetic treatments. There are several different types of health savings accounts available. Some don’t place restrictions on the types of procedures the money can be used for, while others have certain limitations. If your health savings account is a limited one, you may be able to switch your plan to help you save for future treatments.

A Different Perspective on Gym Class

Kids today are harder to teach than ever. Not only do you have to contend with diminishing attention spans, but you also have diminishing budgets to worry about.

But both problems can be solved with a better Physical Education Curriculum and a bit of creativity. Here are some easy ways to teach a better gym class on a budget.

What Does “Better” Mean?
Improve the health, fitness, and academic potential of each student—a better gym class will achieve all of these things.

These days, you can find excellent physical activities for preschoolers, middle schoolers, and high schoolers that use instructional methods that have been meticulously researched by social scientists. The National Institutes of Health and leading research institutions like Columbia University discovered years ago that physical activity helps stimulate learning in young students.

A better gym class combines fun movement-based activities with core academic skills like math and science.

Beating the Budget
An effective gym class doesn't even require tons of money. If you’re teaching in a cash-strapped school district (and you probably are) then use these simple tricks to beat your budget and still help your students get the most out of physical education.

  • Make old new again. How much old Physical Education Equipment does your school throw away each year? There are more economical ways to handle old equipment than simply trashing it all.
    • Re-use. Even old equipment can have uses. Instead of throwing away the football team’s worn footballs or jerseys, you can use them in gym class instead. You’ll save money if you take old but use able equipment from sources within your own school district.
    • Donate. Tax write-offs are great ways to give your department some budgetary wiggle room. Give your old equipment to a community soccer team or health and wellness class at the senior center.
  • One for all! If you really think about it, you’ll be able to find excellent pieces of equipment that can be used for many applications. Stay away from specialized items that can only be used for a single purpose and instead put your money in things like orange cones, hula hoops, and versatile balls.
Practice What You Preach
As your better gym class starts to take hold and you see your students really enjoying themselves (and learning a lot too!) you need to keep one step ahead. If you see your students are picking up educational games quickly, keep the challenges coming. Think of new ways to utilize the equipment and lesson plans you've invested in.

After all, a gym class that never moves forward means students who never move.

Is Cold Laser Treatment Right For Me?

Eating a low-calorie, low-fat diet and exercising has long been the prescription for weight loss. While these habits lead to healthier lifestyles, they do not always yield the results that people hope for. As the body ages, looking fit and staying in shape is harder to accomplish. Many people become frustrated when months, and even years, of diet and exercise still do not help them reach their fitness goals. At this point, people often look into surgical options for body contouring and weight loss.

Cold Laser Treatment Procedure

For years, liposuction led the surgical body contouring industry. In order for people to get the bodies they desired, they had to undergo an invasive procedure with a less-than-favorable recovery time. As technology has advanced, better options emerged, like cold laser treatment. This Low-level Laser procedure has no side effects and no down time, providing patients with nothing to lose but fat and inches. The Zerona cold laser treatment is a non-invasive way to get the ideal body.

A Little History
This Cold Laser Treatment emerged in clinical studies in 2008. It became clear quickly that it was a safe and effective body contouring process, so physicians began using it on patients in 2009. The Zerona method was developed based on low-level laser technology that began to be used in conjunction with liposuction in the early 2000s. Building on the success of those laser procedures, the Zerona method took it a step further, offering patients an completely non-invasive option.

How it Works
Unlike other surgical methods, the Zerona cold laser treatment does not remove fat, per se. Instead, the laser stimulates the fat cells and “breaks up” the usual cellular makeup. This liquefied fat exits through a temporary pore in the cell membraneand is absorbed by the lymphatic system, eventually leaving the body. Though cells are disrupted for this procedure to work, they are not permanently damaged in any way. Instead of suctioning the fat out with a foreign object, the laser works with the body to guide it toward emptying the fat on its own.

Is it for Me?
Since there is no cutting and no anesthesia necessary with this cold laser treatment, there are no Zerona side effects. There is also no down time. The only thing that patients can expect is loss in fat and inches on their bodies. The results of Zerona treatments are easily maintained with proper diet and exercise. The ideal Zerona patient is one that already has a diet and exercise-rich lifestyle or one that wants to use Zerona to jumpstart such a lifestyle.

Women who are interested in using a low-level laser treatment to get back their body following pregnancy can begin Zerona as soon as six weeks postpartum. Generally patients start to see the best results after four to six sessions, and many comment that family and friends notice a difference within two weeks.

Ideas to Help your Fitness Studio Thrive

Instead of leading your fitness classes in the crowded park, the busy high school gym, or that old abandoned garage behind the trucking company on the outskirts of town, expand your space and put more finesse into your fitness domain. If you were in charge of your own fitness studio, you could make your own hours, build your own environment, and turn your classes in to exactly what you always wanted them to be.

Thrive Fitness Studio Center Tips

Use these great ideas to help your fitness studio thrive.

Do you have the Right Space?
Starting out by renting a small studio space is an ideal way to begin, especially if you’re new to Personal Training and you want your classes to be fun and intimate.

Before committing to your fitness studio, go through the pros and cons of the building, the neighborhood, and the agreement you have with your landlord. Use this guide to help:

  • Run the numbers. Before you commit to a monthly cost, be sure you can bring in enough clientele to cover expenses.
  • Know the neighbors. Don’t be surprised about the state of your neighborhood: if your particular area experiences above average crime, it’s better to know it than to be surprised as you’re locking up one night.
 Advertise in Creative Ways
Small business owners must also be proactive advertisers. There are tons of ways to bring awareness to your business, both digitally and through good old-fashioned face-to-face human interaction.

  • Master the Internet. There is no denying the impact of Twitter and Facebook when it comes to advertising quickly and efficiently. Be loud and proud about your Group Exercise Certification and make sure people know how to reach you.
  • Harness the Power of People. Of course, people do still communicate in person. Person-to-person advertising is also the cheapest way to get your name out there, so offer referral incentives and watch how quickly your business grows when friends bring their friends who bring their friends.
 Offer Something Nobody Else Offers
Creativity is essential to having a successful fitness studio. Sometimes that includes incubating new ways to bring in clients when you've hit a slow period or a dry month.

  • Add a service. Instead of just fitness classes, try partnering with another specialist to give your customers a more comprehensive experience.
  • Massage therapy always goes well with intense physical activity.
  • A chef or restaurant specializing in healthy food can bring small orders to your studio to entice customers with a fully health-conscious experience.
  • Offer a more personal experience. Use your health coach certification to create specific programs for your customers. By expanding into personal fitness as well as group fitness, you’ll always have something going on that brings in money.
If you thought you worked hard to get in shape, just wait until you’re in charge of your own fitness studio. But just like all that hard work you put in to become a personal trainer or group class leader, it’s all worth it in the end.
